New Generation = Creators and Consumers


The link above will direct you to an article from Nation's Restaurant News about the Millennial generation being more open minded and exposed to the not so common side restaurant/bar beverages. Not only are they trying new concoctions, they are also trying what seems to be more concoctions than previous generations. In my experiences working in the food and beverage industry, it has been pretty evident following the trend of uprising craft beer and cocktail bars. These establishments are turning into not just a place to try something foreign in a glass, but are thriving in creating a new culture. If you look around at some of these newer craft labs you will typically see a very modern, rustic and simple touch to the decor. Most won't have a television (which typically boosts consumption). This generation is starting to appreciate the numerous ingredients, a mixologists expertise, and the payoff of nothing short of truly delicious.
