Do you think you have loyal customers? Do you believe that they continually attempt to spread the good word of your establishment? Are people more inclined to show dedication if they as if there is some sort of incentive to remain dedicated?Well I'm sure you would like to think you have loyal customers, that they promote your business for you by word of mouth and that the only incentive they need to remain dedicated is that of your product.
Likely? Especially in today's economy.... I don't know about you but it seems like the grocery stores and the wholesalers are starting to get pretty crowded inside. I think people are beginning to get more creative in the kitchen or they are only frequenting happy hour to cash in on half price apps. but still only having water.
Where's the profit in that? Are you adapting to the situation? How can you remind the people that your restaurant deserves that type of special attention to where people will go out of there way to spend their money and eat your food and drink your spirits?
You should devise some a form of a rewards program where patrons can accumulate points, have random daily or weekend postings on your facebook page that state a certain item on your menu is half off or free from this time to that. Have fun with the people and promote industry specials not only for restaurant/bar employees, but change it up to public services or insurance companies (we love to have a good time).
Everyone does happy hour, groupon or a promotion on a poor selling item in the industry. It's time to get creative and bite the bullet, so what..... you can serve the bomb! "If you build it, they will come," Field of Dreams, wooh! One of my favorite "bullet biters" is Islands Restaurant. Let's just say that you should try to remember when a new one opens or find out when any location did open. Unless you order booze, they don't even bother to bring you a check because your food on that locations birthday is free.
Have fun with this process. The minute you stress, you end up doing something out of character.
